The historic walled city of Lagos is15 mins drive and has markets, shops, restaurants, beach and marina.
Other wonderful destinations include the spa town of Monchique, in the mountains to the north, and the ancient settlement of Silves with its11th century intact castle, built on previous fortifications dating back to the Phoenicians, Greeks Carthaginians, Romans and the Moors, a strategic site with panoramic views of the surrounding area. Along the coast towards Faro in the east there are several water parks, Sand City near Lagoa and many other major attractions for children and adults alike. Tours are available from Lagos.
