Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Great location - only 20 mins from airport and a 10min walk to local bars etc but far enough away to avoid night time noise. The apartment (ground floor, 2 bed) was spacious and both bedrooms and sitting area had seaviews. The pool is a decent size and the outdoor patio area had shady spots as well as full sun. Handwash was provided in the bathrooms, there's air-conditioning throughout and a key box so we didn't have to take the key out with us and risk losing it.
Negative: The apartments were difficult to find because there's no sign outside with the property name. Despite messaging several times during the week before our arrival we didn't get check in instructions until we were on the plane and even then we had to chase for the key box code. On that occasion we did receive a fast response so weren't waiting long. There were no instructions for recycling/bins or info about the local area. Our apartment slept 6 but there were only 3 pillows for 4 of us - there was no spare bedding anywhere and we had to chase several times until we eventually received a pillow on the 4th night of our 7 night stay. There were only 2 mugs for the 4 of us amongst several tiny coffee cups. The bedroom door doesn't close and if you closed the ensuite bathroom you'd get locked in so we ended up with both ensuite and bedroom doors swinging open - not very private for anyone staying. Lastly the air-conditioning in the second bedroom was working properly, the tap in the bathroom was falling off, the handle on the outside door was loose and the light outside the entrance didn't work. This place needs some maintenance to bring it up to an acceptable standard and a lot more TLC to bring it up to a luxury the name implies! For example: A welcome pack with a few basics eg washing up liquid, toilet cleaner, coffee (actually there were some coffee grounds but no filters to use) a bottle of water and maybe even a bottle of wine would be appreciated. A washing machine would have been useful as the towels got very grubby and there we no spares. Two pillows per person rather than 3 between 4.
Summary: Great location, lovely villa, needs some work.
