Positive: I had an amazing one-night stay before my Theth–Valbona hike. I arrived around 11 a.m. and, although check-in wasn’t until later, my room was ready after just about 10 minutes, which I really appreciated. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and the bed was very comfortable. What truly made my stay exceptional was the hospitality. Marta at reception was incredibly warm, welcoming, and spoke excellent English, making everything easy from check-in to arranging an early breakfast for my hike. Although breakfast is usually served at 8 a.m., they kindly prepared mine at 7:30a.m. so I could start the trail early. Dinner was one of the highlights of my trip. It was a generous home-cooked meal with fresh salad, bread, soup, traditional Albanian dishes, meat, and dessert, all enjoyed with a stunning view of the surrounding mountains. It was one of those travel moments I’ll remember for a long time. I also loved how happy everyone was whenever I tried to speak a few words of Albanian. My faleminderit (thank you), mirëmëngjes (good morning), and mirëdita (good afternoon) definitely weren’t perfect, but they genuinely appreciated the effort and always responded with a smile. Before I left for my hike, they even gave me two apples for the trail, a small gesture that perfectly reflected their kindness and generosity. If you’re staying in Theth, especially before hiking to Valbona, I wholeheartedly recommend Lodge Martini. The comfortable accommodation, delicious food, breathtaking scenery, and above all, the genuine hospitality made this one of the most memorable.
